Episode 10272:Jay Rayner’s Dining Hell, Starring Josh Ozersky
June 21, 2012 8:04 amBritish restaurant critic Jay Rayner is sometimes called the “dread magistrate of gastronomy,” and feared in our mother country for his mordant wit and keen judgement. So I took him to Joe Jr’s to talk about my own restaurant issues.
Well Josh, see if Jay Rayner will meet you then you should be highly flattered and know that even if your picture has been cut out of some Deli place – I can guarantee that should you ever eat at Schwartz’s Montreal and we take a picture – it will be mine that is cut out…
That Jay will sit with you tells me you are humble and decent and an overall good guy.
So give me a call when in town and I promise not to seduce you – after all once you’ve eaten a smoked meat sandwich there sex will be the last thing you’ll want to do…:))
I want to hear the end of the “Jewish lady’ Joke….why did u cut it?
I liked his note on the menu in America being a starting point for an arguement about what substitutions or dishes the guest can create. Like you work at some hamburger joint where you check the boxes for bread, cheese, et. al.
Mr. Raynor seems like a real nice guy. Damn the networks for “cooking” him into a villain.
A great video as always but two things hurt it greatly for me. Those shorts put me off food for a day or two and Josh please no more singing. When Mr Raynor put his head in his hands that was when you should have quit.
: surely you’re joking? the jewish ladies joke wasn’t cut.
notice how the waiter asks them “is anything alright” as opposed to “is everything alright”, and add a dose of background knowledge about the stereotypical old jewish lady.
