josh, i completely agree. and let me refer you to adam carolla’s nearly identical rant several days ago excoriating the tyranny of those unaffected. The short version is these people have zero to gain from the new opening–short of having another quality establishment in their area–and because they have zero to gain, they give it an immediate no vote. why their opinion should dictate anything in this time of lost jobs and crappy chain restaurants is beyond me.
