Read this trackback on the original site. Not a food related comment just FUCKING irks me that people in NYC feel the need to bring thier filthy pets in food establishments… OK and food looked YUM…
Lox added to cream cheese is an ‘American’ invention. You would never find that served anywhere in Montreal, for sure, Toronto and Manitoba. Vancouver I can’t swear to.
It is sacriligous to mix together cream cheese and lox!! I do challenge you, tho, that THE ABSOLUTE best lox I and the rest of Montreal swear by is gotten at Victoria Fish Market, (montreal) where the Greek owner has nailed the recipe. Want a pound Josh? At 20 bucks I’ll fedex it…you will never eat lox from anywhere else again. Sorry Russ.
No one who walks in goes out the door without having had a hand sliced piece off a slab. Don’t ever consider coming to Montreal without going here if just for a free slice…
