I often think to myself, “if I could be any man in the food business, who would it be?” And obviously, there are a lot of candidates. But there’s really only one clear answer: Mauro Maccioni. The guy is just cool. And who else could could spaghetti while wearing a pocket square and not look goofy? The guy is just the personification of suavity. But he makes great spaghetti too.

One thing I like about The Spaghetti With Garlic and Oil Project is the way it shows off the effortless style of some Italians. Take Mauro Maccioni, the scion of Sirio, and the owner with his family of Le Cirque and Osteria del Circo. Could any non-Italian look this cool while making spaghetti with garlic and oil? When I grow up, I want to be Mauro Maccioni.
