Episode 10012:Cheeburger Cheeburger Rant

Returning from Chicago recently, I stopped at the Cheeburger Cheeburger outlet at the JetBlue Terminal at John F. Kennedy airport, and was immediately consumed with rancor and regret. These emotions seethed within me until, a few days later in my favorite coffee shop, they emerged in a voluble stream.

Two things:

1. There’s a CC by my place that is much diff from the one you visited. No touch screens and the burgers are pretty good.

2. I was waiting for you to have a heart attack in the video.

See you at the wedding!

PS–The frame at which the video is frozen at its start is terrific.

This cheese burger you are describing… is how I would describe intercourse with my ex-wife and the essence of my ex-mother in law…

Like mother like daughter.

yeah that place sucks. it probably especially sucks at the airport. zero character.
people got all excited when they started popping up, but in they end, they are hollow. and expensive. five guys demolishes them. there should be a five guys and a friendly’s sandwiching every cheeburger2x to run each and every one out of business.

Thanks for the warning Josh…

Cheese Burger Cheese Burger on Long Island (Plainview) is great.
Their burgers are at least a half pound, if not bigger. You can even buy their meat and cook it yourself at home. Goes to show you why you should expand your restaurant into an airport ,mall, or an office building.

Hilarious. I only wish I’d seen this before eating at the Cheeburger Cheeburger in the Jet Blue terminal in Richmond, VA. This rant describes my experience exactly, only there was a guy taking orders and it appeared it was also his responsibility to cook all the food, so not only did we have a terrible meal, we had to wait ages for it. And the “pepsi” selection at the soda fountain disgorged a mutant pale brown liquid that was definitely not pepsi.

Yeah, I’m with you.

Just attempted the Montreal location and I can’t even describe the food as we NEVER GOT OUR ORDER after almost A FULL HOUR (between our ordering and our leaving, 45-50 minutes went by). Not once did the waitress leave the cash register, not once were we asked if we wanted drink refills…NOTHING. When we saw other tables who had come in after us get their food, eat and leave while we still waited…I got pissed.

This is with the place just over half full…not full, not hugely busy.

When I told the manager, he just SHRUGGED, so I told him, “Ok. We’re outta here”. His response? A dumb smirk, and “Ok”

No apologies, no “I’m sorry” just “Ok”

Ruined a nice lunch. We went back to the office without having eaten.

It seams that these chains pursue national locations with no way to maintain quality control beyond sourcing raw foods. If the franchise owner is not on top of it, then the chain has to monitor it and it seams that is not happening. I’m going to check out the Cheeburger in Buffalo. I hope it’s better.
I have a question for anyone who can help. I am in Canada near Toronto and I am looking to buy a gourmet burger franchise (we have one in Canada called The Works–it’s good but the menu items are too expensive). Does anyone have any recommendations or can you tell me anything about SmashBurger or Elevation Burger?

Ordered a 12-ounce burger at JFK Cheeburger Cheeburger at JFK terminal on March 7, 2012. First — I was told they were out of burgers after I had ordered via the machine. Was told to come back in 30 minutes. Since I really wanted a burger I went back, had to reorder via the machine, and the burger I got was lukewarm to cold. I complained to the manager and was given a free meal at one of their other concessions. Bottom line: I seriously do not think they cook their burgers at that location; otherwise, why would my burger be cold? I think they are cooked elsewhere and brought to their storefront where the orders are filled.
